Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a mental health condition characterized by a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. Individuals with NPD often have an inflated sense of self-importance, believing they are superior to others and deserving of special treatment.

They may exaggerate their achievements, seek constant validation and admiration, and display arrogant or entitled behavior. Additionally, people with NPD often have difficulty empathizing with others and may exploit or manipulate them to achieve their own goals. While individuals with NPD may appear confident and charismatic, their relationships are often shallow and superficial, as they struggle to form genuine connections and prioritize their own needs above others’. NPD can significantly impair functioning in various areas of life and can lead to interpersonal conflicts, problems in work or school settings, and difficulties maintaining relationships.
